The Bearded Collie affectionately called the Beardie the ultimate working dog breed to be an independent worker, able to make decisions concerning the welfare and safety of their charges without depending on the shepherd who was often miles away they could always find their own livestock and bring them home without human help.

Beardies are active, outgoing, bouncy, affectionate dogs they need company they are not a dog for the full time worker or the less than active they need a lot of exercise and loads of grooming, defiantly not a breed for the house proud they can walk mud in doors on a daily bases and one shake after a drink and you will have water on the ceiling TV is always watched through a water and dusty screen they like sleeping with their legs laying up walls so no paintwork is safe.

They are quick learners both good and bad, their temperament is excellent they get on with dogs of all sizes cats if they are raised with them. The Bearded Collie is a medium-sized dog 5 to 4 lean hard body never heavy. Covered in a double coat never over coated just enough to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Bearded Collies are one of those best kept secrets those that own them seldom have just one they are often the top breed in the Pastoral group and hard to come by never over bred breeders guard the breed with care but once owned by a Beardie no other breed can take its place .
